Three female international aid workers have been shot dead along with their Afghan driver in a province bordering Kabul, the government says.

Afghan Development Association (ADA) founded on 31st October 1990. After establishment ADA had several consultations with various donors to obtain support to work inside Afghanistan rather than continue its activities for Afghan refugees in Pakistan.

A need assessment survey was conducted in 11 districts of Afghanistan in 1991. One-year plan for Integrated Rural Development project implemented successfully.

Access to 30,812 jeribs of irrigation land.
20,000 farming families provided with easy access to market, through reconstruction and rehabilitation of 3 roads with a total length of 65.5 Kms and one bridge, lining 4 districts to the market.
Significant contribution made toward environmental protection through:
  • Protection of 6,886 hectares of agricultural land and 15 irrigation structures from flood and soil erosion.
  • Farmers trained and their awareness raised regarding proper environmental conservation.
  • 4 Micro Hydro Power stations established, generating 240 KW of electricity for 700 rural families.
  • 1,054 hectares of land covered with improved variety of fruit trees.
